Originally British Railways Type 2, later Class 31 diesel electric locos were solidly built, but also very heavy for their size. Primarily designed for workings in the East of England, the locomotives eventually found work over all the Regions (except Scottish) and on all types of workings. Ultimately, a total of 263 locos were produced, the last emerging ex-works in October 1962. This book is a pictorial look at some of the work they have done from around the mid-1980s to present day.
