Born in 1974, Alexey Oleynikov graduated from the Astrakhan State Pedagogical University’s faculty of history in 1996, and from the Saratov State Academy of Law, faculty of law two years later. A Doctor of Historical Sciences, and leading specialist in the history of the Eastern (Russian) Front of the First World War, he is a professor at Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan State Technical University, Belarussian Institute of Law (BIP), head of the Caspian Research Center for Russian history. A member of the Association of First World Historians, he is the recipient of literary prize “The sword and Shield of the Fatherland” (2017) and the author of numerous articles in the publications of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Defense Ministry and ROSSPEN encyclopedia, as well as writing 19 books.
