Derek J. Stewart
Born a “Teri”, raised in Hawick in the Scottish Borders, Derek was educated in Hawick – going on to achieve a B.A. Hons Degree in History (O.U.). Derek trained as an engineer and moved on to tree planter, beekeepers assistant, movie extra (Outlander), researcher at Abbotsford House and guide at Bowhill House ... finding his niche as a museum assistant, working for ten years. He is a founding member of a Border reivers re-enactment club. And enjoys hillwalking, taking regular pilgrimages – completing a saunter to Santiago de Compostela. He lives in Hawick with his wife Julia, and golden retriever, Flynn.
